Proud of My (EmersonWrites) Students

As a part of my professional development, I volunteered to teach a writing course provided to Boston area high school free of charge through Emerson College. The program is dutifully titled: EmersonWrites.

My coteacher, Amy F. and I focused on teaching the craft/terminology of poetry through spoken word, poetry slams, music, and the life of everyday language.

We love(d) our class 🙂 We even supported and helped prepare them for Massachusetts’ first statewide Louder Than A Bomb poetry slam.

Now, their work will be published over at: Necessary Fiction the entire month of May. You can check out their group poem performed in the slam along with pics later in the month.
