On Saturday, August 3, 2013. Mr. Hip (myself) will be hosting a poetry and spoken word event infused with Elle Gomes, featured jazz and blues singer. The houseband that will be supplying the soulful tunes throughout the night will be provided by Jordan Carter. This event is essential to the Boston poetry scene as it weaves the talents of poets breaking into the field as well as a few seasoned veterans. The spoken word comes from many of the local artists residing in and who call their home Boston. Too classy to be sassy, this event will be at the Lily Pad, an art gallery in Cambridge from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. If I could have it my way, this event would be free; however, $6.00 will buy you an unforgettable night or your money back. I can guarantee you a good time, maybe not the money back thing. I suggest arriving early. The venue is not the biggest and we will be sad to turn people away.
This event is open to all ages. Alcohol (beer and wine) will also be served (21+). Grab a bite to eat at Trina’s Starlite Lounge right around the corner or grab a cup of tea from 1369 Coffee House next door.
The flyers for the event were created by the wonderful Emily Hanson. Look around for them in your local coffee shop, pub, bookstores, and favorite places in the Boston and Cambridge neighborhoods. Special thanks to all the readers mentioned below, Jordan Carter, and Elle Gomes.
